A large redevelopment of the former Evans Middle School, Evans Exchange included Home Depot, Food Lion, Walgreens, Cracker Barrel, Burger King, and Verizon Wireless. The 134,518 SF Home Depot opened in December 2007, and a 34,928 SF Food Lion opened in January 2009. In June 2010, two limited liability companies related to Cole Real Estate Investments purchased the majority of Evans Exchange.  Additionally, two smaller parcels in Evans Exchange were sold to private investors.

Located at the corner of two major thoroughfares, Belair and Washington Roads, this intersection is the busiest in Columbia County.
