Former Baptist Hospital Site Officially Sold

The exceptional 23-acre waterfront property, formally known as Baptist Hospital, in South Knoxville, TN, has a new owner. Georgia-based development firm Blanchard & Calhoun closed Monday on its acquisition of the property. According to a deed filed with the county, the deal was valued at $6.25 million. 

 
In October, the Knox County Commission approved a $22 million TIF project for the land. Upon completion, the site will transform into luxury apartments, student housing suites, waterfront hotel, restaurant, retail and office space.
